Hi Gloss paint is not only glossy paint or lacquer but chemicals in the paint are heat resistant, fairly anti-scratch, which these features are not found in typical lacquer. Distinguishing cigarette butts with no any burn marks left is one of original Hi Gloss’s features.
Most contractors still have misunderstanding about Hi Gloss paint as they think it is just standard glossy paint. Actually, quality foundation paint is required for Hi Gloss paint and it has to be painted several times and simultaneously switch with UV heat treatment process for long-lasting effect and protecting it from being chipped.
Hi Gloss paint factories should have UV heat treatment machines that fit each kitchen cabinet panel model as well as good background of Hi Gloss painting skills. |

It needs to be coated on particleboard or MDF wood first to become melamine board. To produce the melamine board, it uses particleboard or MDF wood that is 16, 18 or 20mm. thick depending upon specification and coats its texture with low-pressure system on short circle. The short circle will be pressing melamine sheets onto the board using the heat of 180 – 200 degree Celsius without using glue because melamine itself is adhesive.
Melamine is waterproof and fairly anti-scratch but not as much as the laminate. However, melamine is key ingredient in producing laminate board, laminate wood flooring, and white board. With its cheap cost, most built-in furniture industries use melamine in their production. It is suitable for non-heavy-duty furniture. |

The ultimate anti-scratch and heat resistant material. It comes as a form of sheet with 0.8 – 1mm thick and its size is 120 x 240cm attached to real wood board, parquet, or MDF wood that is 16, 18, or 20mm thick depending on specification with adhesive or press the laminate sheet onto wood board with high pressure. Our factory produces the laminate by this process and pressing by hands just in some areas. Pressing with high pressure gives better adhesion than by hand. If staffs are not skilful in bonding, the laminate can be easily chipped and bubbled.
The laminate is available in many patterns as well as solid colours, and come in many brands like Formica, Wilsonart, Formwell, Arbolite, and Greenlam. |
|
Many well-known furniture brands replace patterned foil papers with PVC vacuum membrane to produce wardrobes because the PVC vacuum membrane is better waterproof than the foil paper. Door panels are the most physical contacted; therefore, the foil papers are only used to cover wardrobe side panel. However, other materials will be used instead of the foil papers for the wardrobe side panel such as melamine and PVC due to their durability.
Speaking of thickness of PVC vacuum membrane, PVC Hi Gloss kitchen cabinet panel is thicker than the PVC vacuum membrane’s. The PVC vacuum membrane is 0.38 – 0.40mm thick but the PVC hi gloss is typically not less than 0.50mm thick.
PVC vacuum membrane is available in white, red, grey, silver, green, blue, and light blue with Hi Gloss-like finish and it can be embossed. |
|
Made from block board and widely used in many countries. Its finish is like Hi Gloss, immersed in water like plastic, and not easily shattered like glass. It is suitable to use as kitchen cabinet door panel material. Moreover, it is also used in production of shelf, TV stand, sideboard, partition, etc. |
